We will be covering these songs over the next two weeks so if you want to dig them out of our back catalogue to bring to the session that would be cool! Here are some of the songs we haven’t played for a while…
We’ve had a busy old few weeks playing lots of songs together and playing a gig last week. A big thank you to all of you who came out to play for the RVS AGM – we had a great time and the audience really enjoyed it. They even sang along and it was lovely to play some new songs too.
In our last session we started working on some new songs… if you missed the session, here are the songs we did!
And don’t forget, Manitoba Hal tickets are on sale from me on a Wednesday eve or via email. Do not miss this great ukulele workshop, sing a long and gig with the Canadian legend! An incredible evening all for £8.50!
The gigs have been coming in! Hope you can make some (or all!) of these!
20th Feb – 1pm – The RVS AGM at The Brackenwood Centre, Lidgett Lane
22nd Mar – 11am – Sunshine and Smiles Down’s Syndrome Day – The Village – Headingley
27th Mar – 6pm – Rotary Club Beer Festival, North Leeds Cricket Club, Old Park Road
Looking further ahead we have…
16th May – 3pm – St Peter’s Spring Fayre, Middleton
17th May – Manitoba Hal returns to Otley for a workshop and gig
Phew thinks that’s enough for now!
Hope to see you this week for a few more new songs and a lot of fun together!
Oh it’s so good to be back! And there’s nothing quite like a load of new songs to get us excited for another year of ukulele fun!
The gigs are already coming in as we go into 2015. People are spreading the good news about RUG, which just goes to show that all the effort and hard work you all put in on a Wednesday night is well and truly noticed!
In our first session of the year, we welcomed some brand new faces to the group and welcomed back a few who haven’t been for a while. Everyone is welcome! There is always a space for you and your uke on a Wednesday evening!
I’ve been taking requests for songs over the Christmas holidays. When I’m thinking of new songs to do I always try to think how a new player might feel about the song as well as those who have been playing a while. I hope you will enjoy the all the songs as well as the challenges some may bring.
Just a quick note to say how much I have been enjoying playing with you all on a Wednesday evening and having a good old sing together.
We have been doing a few new songs recently so I’d thought I’d keep you up to date with what’s been going on.
The Otley Ukulele Orchestra has teamed up with the Cheerful Chilli restaurant this Halloween. We will be playing scary songs and eating lovely food. Check out the poster for details. Entry is through advance tickets only which you can buy from me or by emailing Anne at firstname.lastname@example.org
