We had a great time on Saturday playing at Chapel Allerton Arts Festival! This year we were lucky enough to be on the main stage (sheltered from the relentless rain) and be joined by our friends Sunshine and Smiles.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to play and those who braved the rain to support us from the audience.
Here are some great photos thanks to CLAIRE FLEGG and CHAPEL ALLERTON FESTIVAL 🙂
Our next gig will be at The Acoustic Music Night at The New Highwood – Friday 8th July from 8pm.
We will be opening the evening with a set of our favourite songs and then local band The Broomies will play. The Broomies feature bass, guitar, tenor guitar and ukulele and do a mixture of original songs and cover versions.
Then there will be an open mic – anyone is welcome to get up and do a song or two. Don’t be shy! We’re all friends! If you’ve ever fancied having a go at a song you’ve practised at home – a cover or an original – then this will be a great opportunity to do it!
Help us spread the word and lets make it a night to remember! Tickets are £3 on the door (unless you’re performing – in which case it’s free or you can make a donation to cover the cost of the event)
Remember that our Wednesday sessions will continue right up until and including 20th July. 27th July will be our end of term party (RUG on a Boat!) then there will be a break for August. I look forward to playing with you again very soon!

We had a lovely afternoon at Age UKs 40th Birthday Party. It was a very inspiring event and it was great to hear stories from people who have had direct and meaningful support from Age UK Leeds.
Although we only played 3 songs (!) we made a big impression, and I hope there will be more opportunities for us to support Age UK in the future. A big thank you to everyone who came to play today 🙂
15th January 2016
I have been busy preparing new songs for a new year of ukulele good times! I am really looking forward to out first session back at The New Highwood on Wednesday 13th January from 8pm. I have taken song suggestions from the group as well as adding in a few feel-good classics to get us through the remaining dark nights of winter. Song will be added shortly to the SONG SHEETS page. I hope you can make it to the first session back!
AND WE ALREADY HAVE GIGS COMING IN – be sure to keep checking the GIGS page!
The first one is very short notice – and we are only performing 2 songs (+ a few more while people mingle!)
It is for AGE UK’s 40th Anniversary and I thought it was an excellent opportunity to play to an audience who might not yet know how awesome the ukulele is (and how awesome we are!) – please find the set list and all the details attached.
If you would like to come and won’t be at the session next week please let me know you’re intending on coming.
