We’ve had a busy old few weeks playing lots of songs together and playing a gig last week. A big thank you to all of you who came out to play for the RVS AGM – we had a great time and the audience really enjoyed it. They even sang along and it was lovely to play some new songs too.
In our last session we started working on some new songs… if you missed the session, here are the songs we did!
And don’t forget, Manitoba Hal tickets are on sale from me on a Wednesday eve or via email. Do not miss this great ukulele workshop, sing a long and gig with the Canadian legend! An incredible evening all for £8.50!
We had a fun session last night looking at the songs we will be performing at HUGE this weekend (we’re on Saturday 28th at 3:30pm!)

On the 16th July (a week before our final strum of the summer) we will be recording these 4 songs at The Highwood. I would love everyone to be involved with this! We will then have a CD of our songs to delight our friends and family with!
I will do demos of all the songs so you can practise at home. I have done two so far!
Please have a listen!
I Only Want to be With You Demo
See you all next week for more Ukulele fun – i will post the demos of the songs as soon as I do them…
There will be a rehearsal for the 7th June Tour of Infinite Possibility Event at my Otley group on 2nd June – which you are welcome to attend. Rich from the band Hope and Social will be going through the 4 songs they would like us to join them on stage for… should be a very exciting event!!
Keep an eye out on Facebook too for up and coming performances… our next one is Monday 12th May at the Dementia Cafe in Headingley (St Chads).
I love our Wednesday evenings learning songs on the ukulele! I always have such a great time with you all!
We have put a lot of time and effort into learning our songs over the last few months and it really shows. We now have a great repertoire under our belts and hopefully your confidence in performing them soon is growing. Keep up the practise you guys!
Well the weather prevented a few people from joining us tonight – but we carried on regardless – and I hope those of you who braved the elements thought it was worthwhile! I certainly did… warmed me up no end!
We looked at one new song this evening and introduced a new technique – finger picking.
I have done a little worksheet here for you to look at (using TAB – please get in touch if you would like me to explain TAB in more detail)
i did a little tutorial for my Otley group when we learned this technique which you may find helpful (although we are plucking the G and A strings on the 1st AND 4th beat of the bar) but we will have another look at this next week!
