Summer 2016

We had such fun at our summer social – RUG ON A BOAT! We played our ukuleles and sang as we sailed along the River Wharfe on the Kirkstall Flyboat. It was a lovely end to a great term full of music and good times with friends.

You can watch the edited highlights here….

As you will know we are having a break from our weekly sessions at The New Highwood (although rumour has it, there will be a social gathering at the same place and same time throughout August) but we have a few gigs coming up so please do come and watch us!

SATURDAY 20th AUGUST from 10:30am – Oakwood Farmers’ Market at Oakwood Clock

SATURDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER from 12pm – Chapel Allerton Arts Festival (Main Stage)

Until then – I hope you have a wonderful summer and I hope to see you at a gig or play with you again very soon!

RUG’s Next Performance

Our next gig will be at The Acoustic Music Night at The New Highwood – Friday 8th July from 8pm.

We will be opening the evening with a set of our favourite songs and then local band The Broomies will play. The Broomies feature bass, guitar, tenor guitar and ukulele and do a mixture of original songs and cover versions.

Then there will be an open mic – anyone is welcome to get up and do a song or two. Don’t be shy! We’re all friends! If you’ve ever fancied having a go at a song you’ve practised at home – a cover or an original – then this will be a great opportunity to do it!

Help us spread the word and lets make it a night to remember! Tickets are £3 on the door (unless you’re performing – in which case it’s free or you can make a donation to cover the cost of the event)

Remember that our Wednesday sessions will continue right up until and including 20th July. 27th July will be our end of term party (RUG on a Boat!) then there will be a break for August. I look forward to playing with you again very soon!
