Discovering D!

Hello everyone!

We had a great session last night with some new strums and chords to look at…and people worked hard to push their skills too, which is brilliant. remember the only way to improve is to keep practising – already those of you who are very new to playing the uke are developing your skills. those of you with more experience are pushing yourselves to play tab perhaps or work more on your strumming so WELL DONE! and another thing….RUG can really SING! 🙂

here’s what we looked at last night…

Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On (RUG)

You Are My Sunshine RUG

STAND BY ME – Ben E King

and then we looked at songs at D

Discovering D on the Ukulele

and the following songs to help us get better at playing those new chords

Blowin’ In the Wind (RUG)

DON’T WORRY BE HAPPY (RUG)

We also looked at the traditional Hawaiian song – ALOHA ‘OE

have a listen paying particular attention to the strum pattern (up down up stop up down up stop) where you use the palm of your hand to mute the strings)

ALOHA OE (rug)

hope you have fun practising this week and hope to see you all soon for more strumming and singing together!

🙂
