hello fellow ukulele enthusiasts!
i thought i would write a quick blog post to let you know what to expect from the first session of ROUNDHAY UKULELE GROUP.
I know there will be a mix of abilities and experience in the room, but I want to ensure everyone has a good time and gets to grip with some Ukulele essentials so we are all starting off on the same page.
I will be covering all the things you need to know in order to get you on the road to being an awesome Uke player. We will be exploring strumming, plucking lead parts and chord changes in the context of some well known songs you can have a good old sing to! Although the R.U.G will be an informal weekly strum through our favourite songs, I will also be providing group tuition on how to read strum patterns and plucking parts and how we can really develop the songs and make them come alive!
So don’t worry if you have no experience of playing or reading music… you will be strumming in no time. Over the coming weeks we will consolidate our playing and adding more chords, more songs and more skills to our playing.
Playing the Ukulele is fun – but is so much MORE fun playing with others.
I really hope you can make it to Terry Yorath House this Wednesday… I look forward to meeting (and playing the uke with) you!
