It’s officially Spring now and RUG are nicely settled in to our new home at Lidgett Park Methodist Church Hall every Wednesday evening. There is plenty of parking – and you can access the room from the car park. We are there from 7:30pm for a coffee and chat – the session starts at 8pm.
We’ve got two lovely gigs coming up this month, which we are busy preparing for!
FRIDAY 12th MAY at School Diner Food Festival, Chapel Allerton Primary School. 6pm
SUNDAY 14th MAY at Headingley St Columba URC, fundraiser for Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice from 2:30pm
We’re really looking forward to performing with Good In Parts Community Choir – we have a big finale planned so I hope you can bring a friend and join us for this special concert.
Hope to see you all very soon 🙂
Due to the closure of The New Highwood – we have had to find a new home!
I have tried to keep things simple by block booking LIDGETT PARK METHODIST HALL April-July this year. We’ll see how this goes… but as I have found out there are not many places in north Leeds that can accommodate us! 🙂
Unfortunately – they are booked out next week! So…
WEDNESDAY 29th MARCH – top floor of THE WOODS BAR – 5 Stainbeck Corner, Chapel Allerton, LS7 3PG – next to the CO-OP.
PLEASE NOTE – nearest parking is on Harrogate Road or Stainbeck Lane. There is no dedicated car park.
It’s a great room but it is up 3 flights of stairs and there are no lifts. There will be a bar open for drinks.
WEDNESDAY 5th APRIL – NO SESSION
WEDNESDAY 12th APRIL – 26th JULY – Lidgett Park Methodist Church Hall (fire door entrance on main car park)
There’ll be tea and coffee available for a small cost before the session so we can have a chat and a cuppa as we get ready to play together.
Thank you all for your support for RUG – whether you’ve been coming since the kitchen days, or you’ve recently joined us – RUG wouldn’t exist without your enthusiasm and energy for the group. Here’s to a new chapter and many more lovely musical moments together.
See you soon
Our Wednesday evening sessions continue to be a lot of fun as we learn new songs and play our old favourites together from 7:30pm every week at The New Highwood. Players of all abilities are welcome to join us!
PLEASE NOTE: There will be no session on Wednesday 5th April
We’ve got some lovely gigs coming up… remember to keep checking the GIGS page for more details and updates…
Saturday 18th March 3:30pm-4:00pm Kirkstall Abbey Visitor Centre with Sunshine and Smiles
Friday 31st March 6:30pm North Leeds Charity Beer Festival at North Leeds Cricket Club
Friday 12th May 6pm Chapel Allerton School Diner
Sunday 14th May 2:30pm Headlingley St Columbas for Wheatfields Hospice
Hope to strum with you all again very soon 🙂
I hope you have all had a lovely festive season – we will be back strumming and singing together from 7pm on WEDNESDAY 11th JANUARY at The The New Highwood…
Expect new songs and good times!
Also a big thank you to everyone who played at and supported the Leeds Macmillan Carol Concert on 14th December – the event raised £4155 for Macmillan Cancer Support and The Robert Ogden Centre. A fabulous amount!
See y’all next week 🙂
Two new nine-week courses are starting on Tuesday 10th January at The Woolpack Studios, Otley.
Ukulele for Beginners (7:15pm-8:15pm) is designed for total beginners and will get you strumming in no time!
Ukulele for Improvers (8:30pm-9:30pm) is for those with a good grasp of basic chords in the C family (C, F, G, G7 and Am) but want to further their chord knowledge and strumming technique.
For more details please see our COURSES FOR BEGINNERS page!
Come and join us on Wednesday 16th November from 6:45pm when the Moortown Illuminations will be… um… illuminated!
We’ll be opposite Marks and Spencer on Moortown Corner
We’ll be singing and playing our favourite songs, so come and sing with us and enjoy a glass of mulled wine too!
PLAYERS – wrap up warm and see you there from 6:30pm
We’ll be going to the New Highwood after too for a play so if you can’t make the performance then see you just after 8pm for a session.
We had a great time on Saturday playing at Chapel Allerton Arts Festival! This year we were lucky enough to be on the main stage (sheltered from the relentless rain) and be joined by our friends Sunshine and Smiles.
A big thank you to everyone who came out to play and those who braved the rain to support us from the audience.
Here are some great photos thanks to CLAIRE FLEGG and CHAPEL ALLERTON FESTIVAL 🙂
